Roche Pinas, better known as Benjamin Fayah, was born in 1989 in Suriname.
The name Benjamin is the last child of Jacob from the Bible, which stands for blessing. Fayah is Sranan Tongo for fervor. That is how the name Benjamin Fayah came about, which seeps through in his music. His music career started at the age of 15 in 2004, inspired by the Jamaican singles his brother brought home.

Benjamin Fayah made his breakthrough with "Yu Kori Mi Ati" performance at SuriPop in 2016 and his hit "Heart Breaker" in 2015. His music is multilingual, from Aukan and English to Sranan Tongo and Dutch, inspired by Bob Marley and Mr Cool.
The track "Fika Yu" has the most views on YouTube and the most streams on Spotify. He is also known internationally for his performance at the Brasa Dey Festival in Ahoy Rotterdam (November 20, 2016) and winning the Motivation Award at the G-Summer event (September 30, 2016).
In 2016 he released his first album called "Who Am I". Benjamin's latest album is “Pasensi Anga Bribi”. The track “Pasensi Anga Bribi” was number 1 in the Surinamese hit list for 6 weeks.
