Benji Vaughan grew up in the kaleidoscopic world of the late 90s Goa trance scene, where he learnt his craft as an electronic producer.
This scene was a melting pot of inspirations from techno to Brian Eno, Pink Floyd to Aphex Twin, Free parties to internet evangelism and Benji has always rejected this extraordinary time back in music.
In the early noughties Vaughan teamed up with label mate and electronic music genius Simon Posford to form Younger Brother, a band that gained legendary status around the world in the Psychedelic scenes of Europe and the burgeoning electronic music scene of US.
In 2014, Benji released Even Tundra, his first album under his own name and a deeply personal journey in electronic music that he unabashedly described as 'music I want to hear, not designed to sell, get gigs or appeal to anyone but me!' Soon after, Benji announced he was done with music and disappeared. That was the last that was heard from him until 2023, when out of the blue he announced 'Eidolon' his second album under his own name.
Eidolon is classic Benji Vaughan, timeless electronic music, with influences from Cluster to Burial, Younger Brother to Thom Yorke but always uniquely Benji. Who knows where this artist will go next.
