Hailing from Memphis, rapper BEO Lil Kenny has turned raw street experiences into powerful rap songs, catching the attention of hip-hop powerhouse Quality Control. His story is one of resilience, redemption, and the relentless pursuit of a dream.
Kenny recorded his debut album while incarcerated in federal prison- a project that led to a deal with QC, under the leadership of Pierre “P” Thomas. Young Thug gave him the moniker “BEO” (Been Eliminating Ops), a sign of respect that marked his arrival in the rap world.
His upcoming project, made while in a Nashville halfway house, reflects a life split between the system and the studio. Kenny’s journey began in 2013, after juvenile detention, when a friend pushed him to record his first track, “Nightmare on King Drive,” igniting his passion for music.
Influenced by Gucci Mane, OG Boo Dirty, and Young Scooter (with Gucci even appearing on his album), Kenny embodies the grit of street life turned artistry. Facing two potential life sentences, he used writing as a lifeline, crafting the sound that would define him.
Now a Memphis maverick, Kenny stepped off the prison bus and shot a music video that same day. With a never-settle mindset and stacks of songs, he’s chasing greatness-proof that some dreams refuse to be silenced.
