Who is Berhan Arısoy?
Born in Ankara, Berhan Arısoy discovered his passion for music at an early age. He continued his education in Ankara and İzmir, graduating from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 2002 as a doctor. In 2008, he specialized in physical therapy and rehabilitation. Due to mandatory service, he worked for five years in Hatay-Antakya, where he had the opportunity to closely explore the region’s musical culture. He currently continues his medical career in Gebze while simultaneously pursuing his musical projects.
Musical Career
In 2010, Berhan Arısoy released his first solo album, Gurbette Anne ("Mother in a Foreign Land"). Songs such as "Gurbette Anne," "Çocuklar Gibi" ("Like Children"), and "Sen Bir Aysın" ("You Are Like the Moon") gained considerable attention. In 2013, he released the single Alır Başımı Giderim ("I’ll Take Off and Leave") under the Anadolu Müzik Yapım label. That same year, he also collaborated on soprano Seza Kırgız’s album Sesler ("Voices") with a duet on the folk song Turnam Gidersen Mardin’e ("My Crane, If You Go to Mardin"). In 2021, he released his third album, Derde Dem Türküler ("Songs for the Pain"), entirely composed of traditional folk songs. Since then, he has continued to produce and digitally release many new works, mainly focusing on his own compositions.
