Formed back in 2008, Beside the Bridge is a pop rock five-piece hailing from Stockholm, Sweden. Joel Chew (vocals), Niklas Wistrand (bass), Charlie Karlgren (guitar), Ludvig Algovik (guitar) and Dennis Sandberg (drums) cemented their presence early on with unapologetic, heavy instrumentals paired with high, melodic vocals.
Wanting to expand their online presence, the group began posting covers on YouTube, diversifying their sound in the process. After their cover of The Vamps' "Wake Up" gained traction online and attention from guitarist James McVey, Beside The Bridge landed as the opening act for The Vamps' 2016 European tour, captivating audiences with their performance. Their self-released single "I Hate My Life", through massive fan demand, earned them a spot in MTV's rotation.
Having expanded their fan base to an international level in the latter half of the 2010’s, the group took a hiatus to refocus and redefine their sound. With the new single “Close”, the group is returning to their roots with a raw, but refined core.
