Better Than the Wizards

Better Than The Wizards began as the brainchild of preschool besties Pete and Daniel after they learned their scales and picked up the sax and bass respectively. Since then, the lads have banded up with musos who are great mates and share their desire to get the dance floor jumping. Better Than The Wizards are becoming known for their distinctive blend of pop, funk, rock, and jazz. This six piece band take their influences from a wide range of genres, creating a must-see, fun, energetic live performance.


Playing festivals like Riverboats, Swagger, St Kilda Fest, White Night, Queenscliff and Cool Summer. Hearing our songs played on Triple M, Triple J, Triple R and playing live on PBS. Seeing our album reviewed in The Herald Sun and being featured in MX magazine. Playing with and supporting local artists like Alex Lahey and Animaux, Thando Sikwila, Tash Sultana, Sol Nation and alongside acts like Evermore, Sparkadia, Dallas Frasca, Mia Dyson, The Delta Riggs, Archie Roach and Pete Murray. Some of the greatest successes have been the small things like having people sing along to your songs at shows, sign autographs on merchandise and t-shirts, and creating bonds and relationships with fans. Creating our debut album and releasing it to critical success inspired us to continue our journey together. Working with ARIA award winning professionals like Robin Mai has been humbling and rewarding, and keeps us passionate about the direction we’re going as a band.
