Between is a music group in search of the musical and social 'in-between'. Influences of new music, jazz, improvisation and many, many more elements worldwide gather in Between's music. The group celebrated its 50th birthday in 2021, ushering in a new chapter: Free Music. Since its founding, several important members of the group have died or gone missing. But it is a kind of providence that new encounters with great musicians have come about, such as Hansjörg Schellenberger, Njamy Sitson, Johnny Hamel and Thelonious Hamel, who enrich these recordings in a related and new way. The focus of this production is the new constellation with the history, as well as to bring the philosophy of the music group into a modern, contemporary and social connection.
