LATEST RELEASE! - recently discovered attic find - the very first studio recording by Big Bam Boo, dates from September 1987. "Homesick" shows the band at a stylistic crossroads, a few months before they signed to MCA. A fascinating and brilliant single!
Formed in 1987 by Simon Tedd (Scardanelli) & Shark, Big Bam Boo got their record deal by storming into record company offices armed with their acoustic guitars, a beat box and great vocal harmonies
Signed to MCA, the first album - produced by Richard Manwaring - was released in early 1989 - though a single "Fell Off A Mountain" had been released late '88. The single "Shooting From My Heart" reaching number 17 in the US AOR chart.
The second album was never released by MCA who dropped the band a week after its completion. The band broke up in December 1991. Shark moved to California and formed The Wild Colonials, signed to Geffen Records and released two albums. He now records and releases as Shark & Co. Simon remained in New York (the duo had moved there from London in Feb '91) for a further 3 years and performed variously as The Eye Camera & Simon Scardanelli. He has since released 5 solo albums and a clutch of singles and EPs (all available on Spotify), and now lives in Brittany, France.
