Big Pooh

A member of the hip-hop group <a href="spotify:artist:0s9MrSopEoAn8JqwBipgdO">Little Brother</a> and a solo artist as well, Rapper Big Pooh launched his music career while attending North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina. There he met DJ/producer <a href="spotify:artist:4s8ZGMVf3OiPktSP4ulpqU">9th Wonder</a> along with rapper <a href="spotify:artist:5SyCTZ8X8YQCI0J1VRp4iC">Phonte</a>, both of whom joined up with Big Pooh to form the <a href="spotify:artist:0s9MrSopEoAn8JqwBipgdO">Little Brother</a> trio in 1998. <a href="spotify:artist:0s9MrSopEoAn8JqwBipgdO">Little Brother</a> were signed to the <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Atlantic%22">Atlantic</a> label and hit their stride with 2005's sophomore LP The Minstrel Show, which was released the same year as Pooh's solo debut, Sleepers. <a href="spotify:artist:4s8ZGMVf3OiPktSP4ulpqU">9th Wonder</a> contributed to the MC's sophomore solo release, 2009's The Delightful Bars, then in 2010 <a href="spotify:artist:0s9MrSopEoAn8JqwBipgdO">Little Brother</a> announced their disbandment. Mixtapes like the <a href="spotify:artist:2yQf6b8hxahZaT5dHlWaB1">Raekwon</a>-honoring The Purple Tape and the Fat Boy Fresh series brought Pooh to 2014 and a solo record deal with the <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Mello+Music+Group%22">Mello Music Group</a>. Home Sweet Home, a collaborative album with producer <a href="spotify:artist:1iGcDQbhw4Slu7bygkuV2T">Nottz</a>, appeared on the label in 2015. ~ David Jeffries, Rovi
