Big Soft Punch is an indie-pop band from Portland, Oregon, that blends fuzzy guitars, catchy melodies, and laconic vocals to create a refreshing and warm sound. The band consists of lead singer and rhythm guitar player Allyson Stodola, Jared Holsinger on lead guitar, Taylor Campi on bass, and Melissa Mattson on drums. Drawing inspiration from bands like The Clean, Courtney Barnette, and Alvvays, Big Soft Punch delivers a unique and unpretentious indie-pop sound.
Allyson brought the band together in mid-2019 and they instantly clicked. After a few months, Big Soft Punch was ready to play their first show with 8 original songs. Unfortunately, the pandemic put a pause on their plans, but the band used that time to polish songs, record them, and finish their first album, Eons, which we released in February 2022.
Since then, they have been playing shows around Portland, writing new songs, and further developing our sound. Stay tuned for their next release in early 2024.
