Birds of Fae is an indie pop duo formed on Long Island in 2019 by vocalist Emily Dowd and guitarist Raphael Hernandez. They have been making music together since 2014 and became great friends along the way. Originally called "Peregrine." the project began with two bare-bones demos: "Porch Beer Weather" and "Scars That Match." In 2020, producer Erik Unkrich added drums, bass, and piano to the project and allowed each track to be properly fleshed out. Singles "Cope" and "Skies Over Utah" were released that year, and the EP "Open Letters" was released in 2021. In early 2022, the single "Us in the Woods" was recorded, released, and featured on the podcast "Welcome to Night Vale." Now, in 2023, Birds of Fae is back to working on new music with hopes to release their debut full-length album in 2024.
