Don´t be embarrassed if the name Birgitta Alida does not ring any bells. Her voice, on the other hand, should be familiar to a host of music fans via bands such as Strange Hellos and Lumikide. This voice is now gearing up to reach an even wider audience. Her debut EP “Birgitta Alida EP” might bring artists like Melody´s Echo Chamber, Beach House and Serge Gainsbourg to mind. Birgitta Alida comes from a jazz background, and together with co-writer and band member Pablo Tellez, she has created a unique sound, drawing inspiration from everything from Bach to the Beatles.
On her own music, she says: “Im inspired by all kinds of music, but especially by artists such as Lykke Li, Melody´s Echochamber and classical composers like Bach and Debussy. My music might be hard to categorize, but let´s say I move in a pop/soul/Motown-ish/indie-segment.”
However, it´s not important what genre Birgitta Alida plays, you could rather say that her music is bittersweet, honest, dreamy, and most of all catchy.
“Birgitta Alida EP” is the first introduction to a new and exciting artist – an artist you will hear a lot more from in the near future.
