Bjéar is the musical project of South Australian-born songwriter and producer, Brae McKee. Through Bjéar, McKee has been crafting music that reflects the deeper things in life for the majority of his adult years; feelings and emotion that words fail to express. Ever-evolving and always collaborating, Bjéar’s sound has ranged from cinematic-folk to experimental Americana and bedroom-produced electronic – music for every season – a soundtrack for life.
Initially conceived deep in the Adelaide Hills in 2016, Bjéar has continually evolved and expanded, moving with the patterns of McKee’s life, whether in longing and grief, or in hope and celebration. Drawing inspiration from a diverse array of influences, ranging from Bon Iver and Sufjan Stevens to Frank Ocean and Sun Kil Moon, Bjéar's sonic identity defies easy categorisation.
