Dead to Rights was written, recorded and produced by Black Boats at Shabby Roads Studios in Atlanta from 2017 thru 2019. The music contained in the recording is the product of improvisational sessions cherry picked and then honed to a finished product; some tracks are completely live recordings; others are live recordings with overdubs, and some are tracked efforts.
The entire record was recorded on Garage Band 10.3.2, a Steinberg UR 44 analog to digital interface and a Mackie 4402 VLZ mixer. Many instruments were also used. It was mastered by Jamie King at Jamie King Audio in Winston Salem, NC.
Black Boats is Corey Pallon (drums), Mike Perkins (bass) and Chris Tucillo (guitar).
This album wouldn’t have been made if Corey had not subjected himself to abject poverty.
Film Synopsis
After almost 25 years at Metro PD Detective Lazlo has finally found peace within himself, a love to spend out his days with and is looking forward to quietly reaching his retirement. His hard-won comforts are placed in jeopardy when an arch criminal he locked up year ago busts out of jail and sets his sites on revenge, in the most personal of ways.
