Black Cliffs started as a musical project in 2017 between friends growing up in Kungsbacka, Sweden. With common musical influences and played in the same local musical scene, they decided to collaborate. At start the band consisted of Per Hemberg on vocals, Daniel Larsson on drums, Johan Rutgersson on guitar and Philip Lindgren on bass. In May 2017, a couple of tracks were recorded at Kingston Studios in Kungsbacka. The result ended up on the EP Oceans. In late 2017 Lelle Kullgren joined in as bassplayer for the band. A year later Claes Hedström became the new leadsinger. The months that followed was formative for the band - trying to develop together as a rockband but also to find their sound and road ahead. The band entered the studio in Gothenburg June 2019, together with producer Jakob Herrman. The final songs were mixed by Roberto Laghi/Oral Majority Studios and mastered by Dragan Tanaskovic and ended up on the EP Deeper, released on November 12, 2019. The pandemic halted the band and were reunited again in 2025, but then with a new singer - Sebastian Wognsen. The band recorded a couple of new songs at Recordia Studio, with producer Johan Reiven, released in the summer of 2026.
