It is likely that Blackfire was the first extreme metal band in South East Asia as well as the first extreme metal band to write lyrics in Malay. Their songs had never been recorded in a studio - in spite of this, they were well known from their various performances in rock festivals and gigs around Malaysia in the '80s. Their style is akin to NWOBHM bands like Venom that have dark occult themes.
