In their debut album "Into Black Waters", Black Limbo experiments with sea shanties and traditional folk music to tell the story of a group of sailors who embark in a doomed journey in the quest for gold. During their voyage, they encounter multiple obstacles and mythical creatures from the deep, such as mermaids, ghosts, the Kraken, and the mad god himself, Cthulhu.
For their sophomore record “Porcelain Doll”, Black Limbo takes a bare-boned and raw approach to composing and recording. Drawing inspiration from the grunge and punk scenes of the 90’s, “Porcelain Doll” manages to completely switch up the band’s sound; focusing on heavy guitar riffs, screaming vocals, and thunderous drums. The album explores themes of broken families, aggression, and the fragility of the male psyche.
For their 3rd official release "Mother's Misery", Black Limbo manages once again to completely switch up their style. In collaboration with singer/songwriter Rhaego, the band utilizes synthesizers, punchy baselines, and heavenly vocals to explore the complicated relationship between a little girl and her overprotective Mother. Drowned in surrealism and lynchian imagery, the 2-track EP allows the band to explore their softer side within the realms of the Dream-Pop Genre.
