Black Mount Rise takes you on a musical odyssey through darkest waves to the highest heights. Melancholy soundscapes evolve, just to be torn down by heavy riffs and rhythms. Nasty riffs merge with dreamy melodies, anthemic vocals collide with thundering grooves. Black Mount Rise is dynamic alternative rock. Beautiful and dark.
Behind the ideal of Black Mount Rise stands vocalist and guitarist Yannick Schmidt, who founded the band in early 2014 with his former band mates Tobias Schaller (drums) and Marc Sommer (bass). In 2015, they recorded their debut album „Curtains Falling“ in the Chameleon Studios Hamburg with the producer team Eike Freese (Dark Age) and Alexander Dietz (Heaven Shall Burn). The album was released and distributed by Sony Music Entertainment Switzerland in 2016.
With Micki Richter (guitars) and Alex Jansen (bass), the band toured through Switzerland and played shows with Shakra, Pink Cream 69, Axxis and Threshold.
In late 2018, the band travelled again to Hamburg in order to start the recording process for the follow-up album. Sandro Schmutz (guitars), Sven Cotting (bass) and Adrian Mahler (drums) joined Yannick Schmidt to complete the new lineup.
Black Mount Rise is back and hungrier than ever.
