Blake is one of NZ’s most exciting emerging songwriters and artists. Originally from Queenstown, her introspective yet accessible sound weaves honest storytelling with sharp, melodic pop — shaped by early influences like The Fray, Amy Winehouse, and Nelly Furtado.
After relocating to London in 2015, she made her formal entry into the music industry as a top line writer and vocalist in DnB. She quickly established herself as a standout in the genre, earning a Best Vocalist nomination at the 2017 DnB Awards. Her catalog has since surpassed 15m streams, with releases on acclaimed labels including Hospital Records and Shogun Audio.
The COVID-19 pandemic marked a creative turning point, prompting her return to pop — a space where her soulful lyricism and instinct for ear worm hooks truly shine. Deeply influenced by the UK music scene, Blake now blends organic instrumentation with electronic textures to
craft a sound that is both contemporary and emotionally resonant.
Returning to NZ in 2020, Blake has since gained support from Triple J, ZM and BBC Introducing London. Triple J’s Ash McGregor described her as “a songwriter we’ve got to be watching this year.” With over 570k independent streams and recognition from Rolling Stone AU/NZ, Blake is steadily carving out a presence both locally and internationally. She’s currently working on new material for release in 2025, with recent live appearances at the TSB Festival of Lights and Live Nation’s Ones To Watch showcase.
