The international indie/funk rock collective Blanket Attack, weaves a distinctive musical tapestry by merging rock, funk, classical, and folk influences. Formed by Binayak Khatri and Johannes Stolp, the band's journey started in a small German town with its members coming from such diverse backgrounds as the vibrant Berlin club scene and the serene Nepalese mountains.
Developing their craft in a commune within an old train station, Blanket Attack refined their skills amidst dark pine forests and sleepy countryside villages. Drawing from the influences of nature and a rich musical background, including contributions to TV programs like the BBCs screening of King Charles's crowning ceremony, participation in music competitions like Local Heroes, and performances at well known venues like Fritz Club Berlin, the band's eclectic style began to take shape.
The pivotal move from bustling Berlin to the tranquil German countryside marked a period of introspection for lead singer Johannes, resulting in the creation of the majority of songs for the band's upcoming debut album. Blanket Attack's resilience shone through the challenge of losing their first guitarist to military service, as guitarist Sandy and bassist Aleksa joined the band.
"Set the Stage," their debut single, is a poignant piece encapsulating the band's journey and musical evolution taking you on a sonic journey that seamlessly weaves individual histories into a cohesive musical narrative.
