Author, actor, role model - But first and foremost Chris Pohl is a grade-A musician. With his band Blutengel, the Berlin-based icon of dark music can now look back on a successful career of 25 years with 16 studio albums and numerous EPs as well as countless sold-out live shows.
The “King of blood”, who has been accompanied by singer Ulrike Goldmann since their album “Labyrinth” in 2007, only ever knew one direction in his musical career: upwards. As an artist, Chris Pohl strives to defy the boundaries of genre definitions and rather picks the best of dark electro, alternative rock, industrial pop and such to create his own unique style - each track a one-of-a-kind piece of art.
Regularly placed in the official German Charts (e.g. 2019: #2 with “Un:Gott; 2021: #4 with “Erlösung – The Victory of Light”), Blutengel is a well-known name not only to those in the dark music scene. With the latest album “Un:Sterblich - Our Souls Will Never Die”, Chris Pohl reflects his whole musical past, but also shows how Blutengel has changed and developed over time. It is probably the most personal Blutengel album yet, disclosing deep, dark feelings of the past years, and will certainly not be the last chapter of Chris Pohl’s imprint on the music world.
