Bokor is a death metal band from Oldenburg, which was founded in 2017 by three native East Frisians. The concept and name of the band found their inspiration in Haitian voodoo. The songs tell the story of a Bokor, a Haitian dark voodoo priest who serves the loa spirits and is able to bring the dead to life through voodoo rituals.
The sound of Bokor is characterized by uncompromising guitar riffs, mighty slams and dark melodies. Blast beats, double bass attacks as well as alternating growling and screaming characterize the Bokor sound!
In 2019 the first EP called Phlebotomy was produced entirely on their own. The second EP called Shrine of Lies will be released on October 15th, 2021.
