Borrelle is a 23 year old singer-songwriter based in Edinburgh, who began creating songs all for herself in her bedroom. She likes to deliver an upbeat, head-boppy sound alongside a distinctive style of gritty and rhyming lyrics. Borrelle has been described as an "indie-pop delight" and has been reviewed as creating a feel of "bodily angst and claustrophobia" in her music. Her sound influences range from artists like Glass Animals, Daughter, Camille Schmidt, dodie and Lily Allen.
When young, Borrelle had a passion for drawing her own comics, and it is this visual story-telling that she loves and channels in her music. With an inclination to the ukulele, her songs follow her unique perception of the world, with her experiences of anxiety and OCD fuelling her lyric-writing.
Borrelle has had media representation from BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio, NARC, Crack Magazine and NE Volume. She has also been a part of Generator's First Notes programme as well as We Make Culture's Next Steps music fund. In 2024, she has since come top 5 in Song Academy's Young Songwriter Competition, with her track 'Right Hands'.
