The Swedish country band Bourbon Boys was formed in 2011 by singer, guitarist and composer Pär Hulkoff & guitarist/producer Jonas Kjellgren.
The band's roots go back decades in the Swedish countryside: Pär Hulkoff was born in the barren northernmost part of Sweden, right around the Arctic Circle, and Jonas Kjellgren comes from the countryside in Dalarna in the middle parts of the country.
The first album – Shotguns, Trucks & Cattle – was recorded in 2011 and released in early 2013, and the response was massive and positive. The songs reflect a time of partying, life on the road and past memories of the early country life of hunting and farming. The sound is a mix between old country and southern rock. Bourbon Boy's second album – Hail to the chief – was released in autumn 2013. The single Taxman was awarded a Swedish Golden Award 2020, and the single Hillbilly Heart was awarded a Swedish Golden Award 2022.
After the band's start-up in 2023, the sound and style have developed into a clearer and more focused character, with a strong focus on the old country influences. The lyrics once again proudly tell the story of the working man and the stigmatized people who live on the countryside - With an emphasis on freedom, independence and the undying love of home and family.
In the spring of 2024, the band's third full-length album "Forever Rebels" was released, which upon release placed itself on the top 3 in two of the official Sweden charts.
