Meet Brian Kage: Detroit techno’s hometown hero and an audio architect of the city’s ongoing renaissance. Born and raised in the heart of Motor City, Kage’s career has been a love letter to Detroit Techno’s authentic sound, earning him a spot on DJ Magazine’s “10 Detroit Producers Keeping the Sound of the Motor City Alive.”

His music spans top-tier labels like Michigander, Craigie Knowes, Omar S’s FXHE, Carl Craig’s Planet-E, making him an in-demand name in the techno and house world. Kage’s debut album, Timeless Times, is exactly what it sounds like—a time-traveling journey through Detroit’s underground, blending classic house grooves with a fresh techno edge. This 19-track ride has earned raves from Resident Advisor, BanTanTan, Blues and Soul UK, and more.

But Kage isn’t just a solo act; he’s also part of Reference with Detroit’s Luke Hess, Airport Society with Beretta Music’s Ryan Sadorus, and Escape Driver, a synth-wave collaboration with Jon Paul Bakaric. And yes, Kage even produces for none other than the Insane Clown Posse as Brian Kuma. Whoop whoop!

When he’s not crafting his own beats, Kage is at KageMastering, mixing and mastering music for both local legends and international stars like Delano Smith, Norm Talley, and OB Ignitt. Through his beats, projects, and mentorship, Brian Kage stands as a cornerstone of Detroit’s evolving soundscape, with one foot in its storied past and the other in its dynamic future.
