Brian LaPann is an inspiring force behind the guitar and a powerful vocalist. Soulful and articulate, his musical style is strong, honest and introspective at times.
Brian’s sophisticated pop-rock sound and accompanying blues-guitar melodies illustrate Brian’s wide collection of musical influences—Jeff Buckley, John Mayer, Eric Clapton, Prince, Trey Anastasio, Sting, Derek Trucks and Bob Marley to name a few.
In 2018 Brian released a four song EP entitle Living In Grace, a record recorded live in studio with videos capturing the live performances. The release explores Brian’s beliefs and understanding of Grace in the biblical sense.
Currently living in Philadelphia, Brian first picked up the guitar at the age of 13. He studied classical guitar and earned a degree in music from The University of Delaware in 2008. In 2006, he formed 61 North, a gritty blues rock band who has shared the bill with bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Allman Brothers, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Robert Randolph and the Family Band and Rusted root. Additionally, in his role as the guitarist in reggae group Spokey Speaky, he had the honor to open for the legendary Toots and the Maytals and Ziggy Marley. He has also performed on a tour with Philadelphia based hip-hop artists, Chill Moody, where the group performed Firefly Music Festival, as well as The Roots Picnic in Bryant Park NYC, on the same bill as John Mayer, The Roots and many other incredible cross over hip hop, soul, r&b acts.
