Broken Root

A blend of Rock, indie-folk, and Americana, Broken Root is the project name for Richard Stripling, Hailing from Lincoln, NE. After many failed attempts at starting metal bands out of highschool, Richard walked away from music for a decade. In that time, his music palette broadened to include folk and various indie influences, Like Iron & Wine, and City & Colour. In early 2016, he released his first single "My Father". Later that year was the album "As the Crow Flies". After touring on that album throughout most of 2017, he took a break to play in a local Omaha band to hone his skills on keys. He began working on Broken Root's Sophomore album "Falling through Paradise;" a concept album chronicling the rise and fall of a serious relationship.
