brucuTú is a bossa-jazz-indie project by Túlio Panzera & friends based in São João del-Rei (Brazil). His debut single, Ben, was released by a local label, Rapadura Records, and the oldest Brazilian indie label, Midsummer Madness, combining influences from renowned Brazilian composers, citing João Gilberto and Antônio Carlos Jobim and European indie folk, such as Nick Drake, Elliott Smith, Kings of Convenience and so on. Prof Panzera works in aerospace Engineering, teaching at the Federal University of São João del-Rei (Brazil). Music and Engineering have been complementary and mandatory over the years. He also plays in Churrus, a Brazilian indie band originally from São João del-Rei. His latest release, The Bride of Yesterday's Light, is a tender ballad—a whisper of promises that dance in the air, filled with boundless sacrifices. It is a declaration of eternal commitment, a bond that transcends time and space.
The intimate indie-bossanova song was composed by Tulio Panzera, who invited his friends André Mendes (drums and percussion), Samuel Teixeira (trumpet), Bruno Vieira (synthesiser), and Luís Couto (acoustic guitars, electric guitars, and keyboards) to join him for the recordings. Luís, who is also Túlio’s bandmate in Churrus, produced the track. Bruno Vieira handled mixing and mastering.
