Bungalow follow up their series of singles with a sizzlin’ EP Rockets for your summer listening pleasure. Out on 14 May 2021 on boutique indie label Balance It Out, the six track EP will bring back some favourites, like Make It Right which you may recognise from Spotify’s Fresh Finds: Pop playlist, along with a few new bangers.
As a whole, the EP is a very personal piece of work for the duo. Thomas explains: “Rockets EP was written
during various stages of a breakup and the lyrics reflect that. Where On A Roll is about the realisation that
the relationship might not have a long life left, I Think I Might’ve Lost You Tonight is looking back on the
breakup and about that reality starting to sink in. All songs are somewhere on that timeline from pre to post heartbreak.”
Bungalow is based on the artistic friendship of Thomas and Camille - they have been exploring life and music together since their early teens. Camille describes this exploration: “each song on our new EP Rockets represents a Bungalow adaptation from different styles, sounds and genres we like. We would
always start the song writing process with the idea of how Bungalow would make a certain type of song or genre to keep us fresh and trying new things. For example, Capable is influenced by dancehall and On A Roll by trap. We love using analogue gear to make our music but making this EP we had a small studio, so we had to change our set-up multiple times in the process depending on what track we were working on."
