Burnt Lodge is a melodic black metal solo project formed by Xaaynuunaxre in 2022. Originally born and raised in Southern California, the project was formed while living abroad in New Zealand. After relocating back to North America in 2024, the project now resides in Portland, Oregon.
"Intergenerational Anamnesis," the project's sophomore album, is an exploration of previous lives through spiritual and genetic memory, where echoes of the past ring into the present. Drawing influence from his many, diverse ancestors, their historically conflicting and connected struggles, and the grappling of uncertain futures within the era of Colonial California, Xaaynuunaxre offers a unique take on black metal that is internally reflective, yet externally assertive.
