So what’s your story man? “My story…ehh the typical jail story, I know you got a cousin that went to prison, got covered in tattoos and raps. That’s me. And I hate that part, that that is my story”
But that is the funny thing… CADRE is far from typical and ordinary, there is only one who can do what he did and come out doing what he does. Hailing from a small Midwestern city dubbed “Moneytown” which is also stamped on the upper portion of his back is where his story all began. His song “My World” off of his first mixtape The Next Me explains a life of growing up in the streets, being the product of two addicts and having to turn to selling dope to survive. Although his young life was dark, music has always shined bright, but even with that influence his fate sent him to prison for a total of 7 years. That is where CADRE visualized Born Free, realizing that nothing is stopping him from achieving his goals except him and that you truly have to have total faith in yourself and your purpose. When asked about his relationship with music, CADRE charismatically states, “I don't think music is something you choose I think it chooses you. Music is what wakes you up in the middle of the night and start writing. Music is the reason why you can't have a conversation at times cuz your mind is loaded with lyrics you need to get out. Artistry is nothing you can turn on and off. If you have it, its there forcing you to do something with it. If you don't then it haunts you………
