Hones-T is a Montreal and Miami-based songwriter, rapper and recording engineer of Jamaican descent. Before his music career, Hones-T was a 2 star high school football player coming out of South Florida, and briefly played running back and kick returner at Eastern Michigan University and Delaware State University before getting opportunities to play professionally. He began his music career in the mid-2000s, gaining recognition through collaborations with DJ Whiteowl on his Whiteowl Drop That Series and later making waves with his mixtape No Sleep hosted by DJ iLL WiLL & DJ Rockstar (2011), and a few other notable independent mixtapes during the early 2010s.
