CALE is the Celtic music of singer-songwriter Andy Beck. Based in Glasgow, Scotland, Andy writes and performs songs where you'll hear a blend of traditional folk and contemporary influences.
The first result of this was 2017's "<a href="spotify:album:3UEUlHNpoIwZuOzfB8QeyP" data-name="Even From Here">Even From Here</a>", an EP where acoustic guitar, tin whistle and banjo cross paths with drums, bass and occasional glimmers of synth. The lyrics invite you to celebrate life, and to live it to the fullest. The humour, meanwhile, will be sure to catch you out!
After a wee break, Andy returned in 2020 with "<a href="spotify:track:5UhSyzTbEFkDGqFoiHZzjO" data-name="Cate Maguire's Polka">Cate Maguire's Polka</a>", an uplifting tune that has amassed over 200,000 streams. Andy's latest single, "<a href="spotify:album:0uOBCccFjkjYc8b9gFXwxv" data-name="Siberian Iris (A Song for Ukraine)">Siberian Iris (A Song for Ukraine)</a>", is an anti-war song written about the terrible conflict in Ukraine.
As of 2023, Andy is focusing primarily on other projects, e.g. learning languages. However, a return to music may be on the cards, so hit the "Follow" button and watch this space!
