Calya J.

Calya J, also known as Jessica Boyeleba Balehen was born and raised in Belgium, Antwerp. She is a 22 year old vocalist, songwriter, producer, pianist who translates her contemporary experiences into sound.
She is an exquisite creator when it comes to music and stage performance. On the 21st of June she released her first EP, “Blueprint”. This mini album contains a mix of mystical soundscapes/beats and soul/rap vocals. The project tells the story of the “Mortal - Energy -Testimony”, meaning; “A human being is born with emotions and a voice to speak up.”
“Blueprint is a little sketch of how I’m experiencing the weight of the world. My music is meant, to relate, to accept, to shed and to heal all negative feelings/thoughts that the mind can capture. my creations are about feeling and becoming one with every emotion that is running inside, in order to rise up and become the best version of yourself.” - Calya J.
Over the last two years she has been performing on several stages in Belgium such as: Trix, Ancienne Belgique, Copacobana, Sfinx, Zomer Van Antwerpen, DeSingel, DeCentrale, Zomerfabriek, Beursschouwburg, Het Bos, De Studio, Arenberg, De Vooruit, Zinnema, Botanique..etc
In 2022 she managed to make international connections. In June she recorded a song in Atlanta and perform in the netherlands in venue such as: Worm, de Doelen, De Bosuil
