Camera Shy is an indie pop duo from Oakland, California featuring Alexandra Morte and Nick Bassett, both of whom had previously performed together in the shoegaze band <a href="spotify:artist:1tnjjbgszXYa8BbyTzwM0w">Whirr</a>. After forming in 2014, they quickly signed with <a href="spotify:artist:1tnjjbgszXYa8BbyTzwM0w">Whirr</a>'s label <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Run+for+Cover%22">Run for Cover</a> and released their debut EP, Jack-O-Lantern, in the summer of that year. Taking influence from bands like <a href="spotify:artist:0Ve1sk7tcGsb7ZVsp4o8GG">the Softies</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:1tqZaCwM57UFKjWoYwMLrw">the Cardigans</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:4nlqDmbzFzbNITaqjJv7D7">the Sundays</a>, their mix of heavily reverbed acoustic and electric guitar provides a gentle backdrop for Morte's dreamy vocals.
