Capitán Simón

Capitán Simón is an indie rock band from San Juan, Puerto Rico. The band is composed by José Díaz, Christian Santiago, and Juan Pablo Bustillo. Established in 2014 and ever since, they have gained notoriety in the local scene for their unique style and energetic performances. The band released their first self-titled EP in 2016, followed by their second EP, “Sábados”, released in 2018. Their music reflects a sonic blend, ranging from post-rock, alternative, and pop. Their song “Falta de Vivir” reflects their approach to a joyfully rhythmical synchronicity within a pop structure, whereas “Sábados” takes the band to an aggressive, chant-driven direction. On January 26, 2021, the band released their new single “Amante de Papel”. Their latest single, "En Mi Isla", was released on February 9, 2021. Their latest songs have represented different subjects such as hardships in love, showing appreciation for your close ones, and the realities of living in an island like Puerto Rico. The band will continue releasing new music throughout 2021 and so on.
