5-piece collective from the Antelope Valley city of Lancaster, CA, playing everywhere from dancehalls, to backyard parties, to taekwondo studios since the spring time of 2010. Originally starting as purely a ska punk band during their time together in the high school marching band, Captain Smooth Talk’s sound continues to grow, implementing styles of all kinds into their music today - funk, indie, rocksteady, cumbia, shoegaze, prog rock, etc. - all while staying influenced by the Los Angeles skacore scene.
