CAR287 emerged from Winnipeg's music scene in 2014 when four musicians united in a basement, driven by their admiration for rock legends. Jay Yarmey (Vocals/Acoustic), Travis Wog (Guitar/Vocals), and Terry Ferguson (Bass) initially aimed to replicate the sounds of their idols, inspired by Canadian icons like The Tragically Hip and global acts such as The Killers.
As they developed their craft, CAR287 began exploring socially relevant themes, reflecting contemporary life and relationships in their lyrics. Their blend of influences, spanning five decades of rock, resonated with audiences in Winnipeg and beyond. In 2023, drummer Ryan Olenick joined the band, enhancing their dynamic and live performances.
After years of performing, CAR287 released their first recorded music in 2022. The EP, recorded at Bedside Studios, highlighted popular songs and marked a career milestone. This limited release was well-received, paving the way for their next venture. In 2024, the band entered Private Ear Recording studio, known for its work with artists like Begonia and Propagandhi, to record their next project, boosting their presence in the Canadian music scene.
2025 is set to be a pivotal year for CAR287, with the new album "Looking Through The Lens" slated for release on September 20. Singles will drop starting February 15, featuring "Feel It Coming On" and "Highway Strong." Join the ride in 2025—feel the love and hit the highway with CAR287.
