Carla Hassett

Award-winning songwriter, singer, and producer.

A native of São Paulo, Brazil, Carla was raised in Chicago and learned to sing in the windy city’s great recording studios.

Carla has sung with Billy Idol, Sergio Mendes, Caetano Veloso, Mike Patton, the late soul legend Solmon Burke, REO Speedwagon, Natalie Cole, Seu Jorge, Lila Downs, Michael Bublé, Enrique Bunbury, and many other artists.

Carla sang in the film RIO, RIO 2, and dozens of TV shows and commercials.

Carla won the John Lennon Songwriting Contest with the grand prize in jazz for her self-penned and produced song Sempre Odara. Her songs and productions have been featured in The Young and the Restless, in the Telepictures Music Library, 7Style Music, and in the film Amazon Queen.

Carla graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in Music Production and a master’s degree in songwriting from the prestigious Berklee College of Music. Carla is currently a professor of commercial music at California State University Los Angeles and teaches music production at Berklee Online.
