A native of Houston, TX, Carnel Davis, Jr.'s love for music started very early on. He began teaching and directing choirs at his home church at the age of 13. Carnel’s ability to teach parts without musical accompaniment afforded him the opportunity to form a Gospel Choir at his high school. During his musical career, Carnel had the opportunity to serve as a choral director for the Edwin Hawkins Music & Arts Seminar, the Gospel Music Workshop of America and the National Baptist Convention. Carmel is also a member of Ricky Dillard’s New Generation Chorale.
Carnel founded Incorporated to Praise in May 2004. Carnel & ITP quickly began to be sought out all over the city of Houston, TX and eventually across the country because of their vibrant yet churchy sound and anointing. After releasing their first EP, “My Soul Says Yes”, the track “Where The Spirit of The Lord Is” was featured on Earnest Pugh’s Gospel’s Rising Stars. This feature earned them their first Stellar Award nomination. Since then, Carnel & ITP released 3 Billboard charting singles, “Make Me Better”, “Lily of The Valley”, and the church anthem “Great God.” Stay tuned for great things from this psalmist and his choir.
