Casey Holford is a performer, producer, and composer / sound designer for podcasts such as Heaven's Gate, Toxic, and Broken. His upcoming solo record, Suburban Legend, draws from alt-country and rock influences like Uncle Tupelo and REM, and songwriter-poets like Elliott Smith and Leonard Cohen. He was raised in MA on comic books and coffeehouses. He later got his film degree while spending every spare minute playing or attending shows in the Providence music scene.
Casey moved to Brooklyn on Sept 9th, 2001 and watched the towers collapse from his window. He found a home in the community around Sidewalk Cafe's open mic, where he made lasting connections with fellow musicians such as Phoebe Kreutz, Toby Goodshank (Moldy Peaches), Chris Maher (Holy Ghost) and many others. He performed with brother Matt Holford (Darediablo), cousin Wes Stannard, and Daoud Tyler-Ameen (Bad Moves) as Outlines. He was also a member of animal concept group Urban Barnyard, art punk band Dream Bitches, and Daoud's solo project Art Sorority.
Casey fostered a career as music producer in his community by recording artists like Erin Regan, Jeffrey Lewis, Toby Goodshank, Adam Green, and Charly Bliss. Along the way he has made a bunch of solo releases that range from folk to indie rock, and toured the US and Europe.
He lives in Brooklyn with his wife Joanna Kelly and their daughter.
