My grandpa walked into the neighborhood music school and asked the receptionist “will you please take on my 3-year-old granddaughter as a student?”. They said, "no... what?" He kept going back until a teacher in marvelously stylish gold boots said, “I’ll take her”, and I proceeded to screech that bow across the strings of my great-great grandmother’s violin, assaulting the ears of listeners and loving every minute of it. I have not stopped playing music since. And the screeching has stopped! Mostly.
I went to Belmont University in Nashville for songwriting (you can teach that?) and audio engineering. I interned for Hans Zimmer’s composing company 14th Street Music. Now I make music and film videos for that music in my apartment in Canada.
