Castell Embruixat is the latest musical incarnation of Guillermo Martorell. A composer, producer, and collaborator of artists including Maria Rodés, Mazoni, and Mariona Aupí, he has built a singular voice, evocative and deeply informed by his work as a film composer. He has toured across Europe and Japan, and performed at festivals such as Sónar (Barcelona) and Meltdown (London).
He was the founder of Mr. Hubba & el Mono Inventor, a legendary act from Barcelona’s experimental scene that blended electronics and improvisation, leaving a lasting impression on audiences from far and wide.
What began as a series of late-night sketches and cassette tape experiments slowly evolved into Castell Embruixat, a project that feels less like a band and more like a memory you can walk through. With a textured and immersive sound, the music leans into slow builds, phantasmagoric melodies, and tones that seem to come from somewhere just out of reach.
