Catalysts are South Wales’ resident “elder emos,” rocking out from Newport, Ebbw Vale, and Monmouth. Fronted by David Challenger with guitarists Elliot Blake and Craig O’Connor, bassist Paul Owen, and drummer Haitham Alhardan, they started releasing music during the pandemic under COVID-controlled conditions and quickly won over a devoted underground following. Their sound mixes Nirvana-level intensity, Oasis-style melody, and the arena-ready energy of Bring Me The Horizon and The 1975, all delivered with vocals that hit straight to the heart. In 2025, they hit Long Wave Studios in Cardiff with GRAMMY® nominated producer *Romesh Dodangoda, proving that being elder emos in your 30s doesn’t slow you down, it supercharges your sound.
