From the Blue Mountains and Port Macquarie, Candy Oh and Andrew Deasey are Cee Dee Stone.
Meeting through a mutual friend, they quickly discovered themselves a musical match, thus beginning the culmination of Deasey’s prolific open tuned riffs and Candy’s self-taught singing and songwriting
In 2024, they wrote the album Ugly Skin, and began recording at Everland Studios in Five Dock with Sound Producer, Ben Worsey. Whilst recording, they collaborated with strings extraordinaire, Marcus Holden; Drummer Bruce Stephens; and Double Bassist, Steve Elphick.
What they have created has been described as a lush soundscape of raw, vulnerable music – layered, harmonic vocals, open-tuned riffs, soaring strings and driving beats.
Mr. Boiler is the first single release from Cee Dee Stone's upcoming album, Ugly Skin. Layered, intense vocals, energetic guitars, soaring strings and driving beats, Mr. Boiler offers a frightening vulnerability and dive into the complex relationship between passion and toxicity.
Mr Boiler showcases Cee Dee Stone's lyric writing and song conceptualisation. The trust and interplay between Candy and Deas is laid bare on the rest of the album, with a variety of feels and sounds. Marcus Holden on violins adds weight and atmosphere - the movement of energy within the songs between vocals, intricate open tuned guitars and soaring violins is the highlight here.
