Cell7 has been a fixture on the Icelandic hip hop scene for over a decade. She is of Filipino descent and came of age as a defiant and joyful outsider in the Icelandic music industry. Cell7 is known not just for her skilful lyricism and impeccable flow but also for legendary live performances and an uncanny ability to get a crowd dancing and singing—even in the arctic cold of Reykjavík, where an audience’s default position is aloof observation.

Cell7's latest release U-N-I is not just music; it's an intimate exploration of the whirlwind

By adopting a Metahuman alter ego, Cell7 seeks to encapsulate the essence
of intimacy in an utterly unique and captivating way.

This release also marks the ongoing collaboration with Kristinn Gunnar
Blöndal, a luminary of the Reykjavik nightlife scene known as DJ KGB,
renowned for his indelible mark on Icelandic music.

The journey of making the U-N-I video began with technical artist Johann Reynisson, who skillfully
captured Cell7’s live performance, translating her energy and emotions into
the digital realm with stunning fidelity using Unreal Engine. Their ambition? To
create a profound emotional resonance with the audience, melding music,
emotion, and cutting-edge technology into a compelling narrative of human
