"Chalina" is the band of Chalina Smit, a Dutch vocalist and percussionist who loves to search for the boundaries within modern jazz and latin music. While studying at the ArtEZ Conservatory her search for her own voice and sound began. With lessons from Rolf Delfos she found herself working out of her comfort zone, developing as an unique vocalist who is not afraid to play and compose like an instrumentalist.
Next to singing, she is an active percussion player, playing in different bands and combining singing and playing at the same time.
