Chasing Desolation is a Los Angeles-based rock band that blends heavy modern rock with influences from rock & roll, metal, and a variety of eclectic styles. Known for their high-energy live shows, they immediately captivate audiences with their intensity.
Formed by guitarist Jimmy Strimpel in the Bay Area, CA, the band evolved through various lineup changes. After a break, Jimmy and former drummer-turned-vocalist Seth Perez continued writing and recording demos remotely. Jimmy’s touring experience as a guitarist and Seth’s audio engineering training in LA helped shape the band’s direction.
Once relocated to Los Angeles, bassist Austin Dunn and drummer Mike Mayhem joined the group, and Chasing Desolation was reborn. The band released their debut EP Malice in 2017, followed by the full-length album The Moth Collection in 2020, showcasing their growth in both sound and style.
With every release, they strive to refine their sound while staying true to their roots. Their approach is simple: make music they’re passionate about and share it with an audience that feels the same way. Whether it's the raw energy of their live shows or the unique blend of influences in their recordings, the band is committed to keeping their sound fresh, bold, and driven by genuine passion for rock music.
