Ches Barrow

Featured in the likes of Wonderland and Earmilk, she might come from the world of Fashion but Ches' affinity for songwriting began the first time she played piano.

Trained classically, it was her equal love of poetry and music that led her to discover key influences: Joni Mitchell, Alanis Morissette, Red Hot Chili Peppers & Hole; encouraging the evolution of her own songwriting into the lyric-heavy, melodic-edge that defines Ches' style.

Despite a 100-song-strong repitoire by the time she was 16, being 'scared to fail at the one thing I loved the most' saw Ches instead pursuing a career in Fashion. At just 21, she launched her first company Façonner; gaining notoriety for curating and editorially Art Directing the biggest fashion houses globally. And in 2020, enamoured by making Luxury more sustainable, went on to found clean beauty brand CHES Editions; hailed by Vogue as a 'top 8 beauty buy'.

But Ches never stopped writing songs. And when a personal catalyst made her realise she never would, finally reached out to a studio where she met the esteemed ME Mazen Murad (Alanis Morissette, Rolling Stones) who set her on the path to release her highly anticipated debut EP (October 2021).

With the title track already praised as 'everything that makes people fall in love with music', Girl Who Ruled The World exhibits Ches' fusion of Alternative with a nod-to-pop, heavy rock influences and signature lyric-sophistication that make her a serious contender in Music.
