Chez Ali

Chez Ali is the solo project of Stockholm musician and <a href="spotify:artist:3R9ZYCWLVOxVJGZVryh6Nd" data-name="Steve Buscemi&#39;s Dreamy Eyes">Steve Buscemi&#39;s Dreamy Eyes</a> member Elias Mahfoud. Elias initially started working on Chez Ali when living in London 2014-15 making sounds that channelled the British capital&#39;s soulful and jazzy indie sound, as mastered by <a href="spotify:artist:4wyNyxs74Ux8UIDopNjIai" data-name="King Krule">King Krule</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:1RKG6WXRzmTJtbLRZTPU0T" data-name="Cosmo Pyke">Cosmo Pyke</a> and more, in his very own way. After working with the project on-and-off since and performing it live for the first time 2017 Elias debuted <a href="spotify:artist:32hqJxuSnHgNqJnbW7itGU" data-name="Chez Ali">Chez Ali</a> with <a href="spotify:album:5Ri2BeIk2P6TLcNEy5u8OM" data-name="Blue Cheese">Blue Cheese</a> early 2018.

In October, <a href="spotify:album:2Yzl1XD7rhcbYnLTqgAomn" data-name="Adore You">Adore You</a> was released, the second taste of the debut EP <a href="spotify:album:6vwbXRcSBjmFl0bVaycs9r" data-name="Buenas Noches Club">Buenas Noches Club</a>. Adore You is about &#34;looking back on the initial meeting with that special someone, to the point that you’re almost obsessed and the thought of your next meeting brings excitement and energy to your life&#34;.

The Buenas Noches Club EP is a collection of Elias&#39; wide spectrum of soulful indie pop gems, equally influenced by indie greats such as <a href="spotify:artist:3inCNiUr4R6XQ3W43s9Aqi" data-name="Pavement">Pavement</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:4wyNyxs74Ux8UIDopNjIai" data-name="King Krule">King Krule</a> and soulful R&amp;B icons as <a href="spotify:artist:336vr2M3Va0FjyvB55lJEd" data-name="D&#39;Angelo">D&#39;Angelo</a>. The EP was released November 9th 2018 on all platforms and limited pink vinyl via <a href="spotify:playlist:4cj7BZ1Zzv1ba8p2YppFbC" data-name="Rama Lama Records">Rama Lama Records</a>.

2020 saw singles <a href="spotify:album:4iyTmusITj2da3vwGWPe2N" data-name="Care 4 U">Care 4 U</a> and <a href="spotify:album:08PjKhB1A4uKKL9PfTbSEE" data-name="Shrek II / Gordon Ramsay">Shrek II / Gordon Ramsay</a> accompanied by music videos for Care 4 U and Gordon Ramsay.

Chez Ali has been hailed by both national and international tastemakers such as Pigeons &amp; Planes, CLASH, Highsnobiety, Spotify’s Fresh Finds and more, with praise such as ”your new favorite artist”, ”a potent, highly individual voice” and ”if <a href="spotify:artist:3Sz7ZnJQBIHsXLUSo0OQtM" data-name="Mac DeMarco">Mac DeMarco</a> was attractive in a non-gross way”.
